Fresh Fall Fun!

RUF at Winthrop

It has been an interesting transition from Tennessee Tech. The students are different, the demographics are different, the campus is different, but at the same time, there is a deep love of Jesus amongst those in RUF, just like at Tech. It has been a bundle of fun getting to know the guys, which are few in number. They are each unique in their interest, but get along well. It has been great getting to know them and plugged in with them. That being said, we desperately need more guys in RUF, it is almost all women! So, please be praying that in my limited capacity I would still find time to reach out to new guys and share Jesus with them.

In a broader sense, Welcome Week went well! We had our first Large Group, a game night, and a welcome back party. Several students showed up to each and there are so many new faces for me to learn! Please be praying that God would continue to draw new students to RUF.

We are also looking forward to Fall Conference in September. Please be praying that students would sign up to go and grow in fellowship and grace there.

Seminary Life

Seminary is off to a great start! I actually had a great time in Greek 1 and (dare I say) enjoyed learning it, which was quite the surprise to me! Now that Greek has come to a close, the Fall Semester has begun. This semester I am taking Greek 2, Gospels, Church History 1, and Westminster Standards. I am looking forward to growing in my understanding of the Bible and God over the coming months. Please pray that I continue to do well in my classes and study hard so that I can be properly equipped for the work of ministry!

I have also found some great friends to study and learn alongside of during my time here. Some are local and some are from all of the world! They are very friendly and just as eager to learn about God. I am truly thankful for this community God has provided for me.

Personal Life Update

Life in Charlotte continues to be grand. Each week there are new places to explore and try out. We are enjoying our new Church and excited to get plugged into small groups this Fall. Gabby is almost off of orientation for her floor and has really been pleased with her coworkers and managers. It is truly a blessing how much she has enjoyed her new job at Novant! Right now the only thing we have a grip with is the heat, but that is all! We have really been blessed with such a wonderful community and opportunity here in Charlotte!

Please be praying for continued delight here in Charlotte and that we would get even more plugged in with our Church here!
