Fall Conference!

This fall semester is off to a great start! We had many new students come and visit us, and many have chosen to stay with us. So much so, that our group more than doubled with the addition of all these new freshmen students!

We are so thankful for all of these students that God has given to us for their time in college.

Fall Conference

This year we took 35 students to Fall Conference, and almost two-thirds of this group were new students. This is great because Fall Conference really helps to get students plugged in to the ministry and create a community here.

While at Fall Conference, students had four large groups unpacking what love really is from 1 Corinthians 13. Students also had small groups to discuss the sermons afterwards. I think many of our students really benefited from this time looking at what God’s Word has to say about love.

Students also had free time to spend together. Many of us went apple picking at a near by apple orchard and played a game of kick ball against USC which may have gotten a little more serious than was first expected. Everyone had fun even though the game ended in a tie!

My Ministry

Like usual, I am continuing to meet with guys one-on-one and co-lead our guys small group, which is going over the Beatitudes. Unlike normal, I am off freshman duty this semester. Instead, I am investing more into the upperclassmen guys that I have been meeting with previously. I am really enjoying this opportunity to pour even more into these students. In addition to all of this, I am also preaching one of the Large Group sermons on October 14th. I will be preaching on Matthew 20:20–28 talking about how God engages our desires and Kingdom service.

Personal Life

Gabby has been doing well in the ICU, and she really enjoys working there. For me, the fall semester has kicked off at RTS and classes are going well. It is a heavy load this fall, but I am enjoying all of my classes and learning lots about polity, the prophets, ethics, hermeneutics, and pastoral counseling.

I also want to share that we passed RUF assessment! This means that RUF will now consider us for campuses that have openings, and we have even already begun to hear about some opportunities. Please be praying for us as we think about where God may be calling us to serve after our time in Charlotte!

Prayer Requests
